Water is an essential nutrient.

Our blood is over 90% water, and brain tissue is over 85%. Overall, two-thirds of our body is composed of water.

Because our body is composed of mainly water, lacking access to water impact s us immediately. Humans can live for several weeks without access to food, but only a few days without water results in death. Clearly, water plays an important role in our everyday lives.
